'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Galbraith resumes battle with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith grins broadly as he recalls the dramatic final moments of his team's epic comeback triumph against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. That match wrapped up with Galbraith briefly donning a spectator's eyewear amid the on-field celebration.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith rattled the woodwork with a speculative effort from 25 yards, and his teammate quickly slammed home the loose ball before charging toward the crowd to celebrate, with supporters swarming the players.

Stunning Reversal

The victory capped an unbelievable comeback given Swansea had trailed 2-0 during the latter period. During the celebrations, there was some minor mishaps. He shared, "There was a fan sort of calling out and myself and Keysy [Josh Key] were puzzled: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're people, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

The victory earned a next round fixture at home against Manchester City on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith pushed hard at the equivalent round of the FA Cup with the London side in February. Galbraith had an excellent perspective when Orient took the lead in stunning style, with the attacker's long-range effort from about way out going in via the woodwork and the Stefan Ortega. It seems unfair that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have wished they would've credited him for taking the effort on from that range," commented Galbraith, who played in the middle before moving to right wing-back after Orient changed tactics. That meant competing with Jack Grealish, with whom he swapped shirts, and the player was among the opposition who praised the way his former team approached the match.

Opponent's Class

"Athletically they are outstanding but even the fundamentals and routine actions, they can just do it over and over again," the midfielder notes. "It seems as if they always find their target and they understand how to control and take the sting out of a game. You can think you're all right and then abruptly they will just fizz a pass between defenders without you even seeing. You have to be focused every second of the game. It requires a strong mentality and focus just to remain competitive."

Swansea Move

Swansea pushed to sign Galbraith in January and fought off rivals to sign him in the summer in a significant move. He made a name as a popular figure across two seasons at Leyton Orient and has rapidly done the same in his new home. At Orient he joined forces once more with the coach, who previously gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in senior football on loan at his loan club from Manchester United. Then came a loan at lower division the Manchester club, before he moved on from Old Trafford.

Growth Journey

"I was probably a somewhat inexperienced going into men's football. I think numerous professionals would say youth team games is entirely separate. Sometimes it feels like play is circulated without much intensity. There's not many physical contests. Once you start playing men's games you have to adjust fast."

Country Call-ups

His progress reflects that development for his team and nation, excelling for Northern Ireland, who remain in contention for the global tournament next summer via the qualifying rounds and for whom he has started the last several matches, including home and away fixtures against the German national team. His former international manager, Galbraith's ex- international manager, offered the highest praise, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he controls possession and his knack for a decisive through ball.

Early Days

This marks a remarkable path for the youngster from the local area in his hometown, just outside the capital, who grew up watching his father, the elder Galbraith, also a engine room operator, play for his father's team.

Manchester United Experience

The player's sole appearance for United came in the away trip in 2019, a continental tournament trip to Astana, where they played on an artificial pitch and the stadium roof was sealed owing to conditions of freezing cold. "This represented a extended travel and it was freezing," he recalls, chuckling. "The week before, several youth players and I practiced as a group, so that assisted our preparation. Just to join the main group and get a couple of minutes at the end was amazing."

Moving On

How hard was it to depart Manchester United, the club he signed from his boyhood team aged a teenager? "This turned out fairly simple, because I reached the point where I realized I couldn't establish myself at the senior squad. I'm extremely thankful for the experience gained but it got to the point where I believed I required a fresh start, move to a lower level and play professional soccer. Now I'm slowly progressing again."

Welsh Adaptation

It is mid-afternoon at the club's training ground but Galbraith has somewhere to be at 5pm: a road rules assessment, another progress toward getting on the road. Prior to relocating to his new neighborhood, the mid-twenties player was a constant rider in Swansea's dubbed fun bus, a small coach driven by team personnel, Pete and Howard, which shuttles players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"I travel with the Portuguese player, another squad member, Malick Yalcouyé – a former passenger used to be in it but has begun using his own car. It's enjoyable to interact with the guys but I'm aiming to be the next one to drive independently and behind the wheel. The Portuguese player enjoys practical jokes; he's frequently playing tricks."

Fan Interactions

During his time at his former club, Galbraith would mix with supporters on public transport after starting his journey at Brentwood. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
